Burkina/Mali Federation: Pan-Africanist walkers support the initiative

On Monday, March 27, 2023, His Excellency the President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, received in audience young Pan-Africanist walkers who joined Ouagadougou from Bamako on foot with a message of love. , peace and fraternity for the people of Burkina Faso.

Coming from Mali, Senegal, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Burkina Faso, the walkers estimate that they have traveled a distance of 862 km, “to bring our support to the brotherly people of Mali, to the brotherly people of Burkina”, according to their door. -lyrics Khadidiatou DIEYE.

She also specified that last year, these pan-Africanists marched from Dakar to Bamako to support the Malian people in the face of the embargo imposed by ECOWAS and UEMOA. And today they are doing the same “to support Burkina and Mali for the decision taken to federate their two peoples and unite Africa”, she added.

At the end of their meeting with the Head of State, the walkers explained that the President of the Transition hailed the initiative at its fair value.

The Bamako-Ouagadougou march is an initiative of two organizations, the citizen watch movement of Mali and the Yelema Honronya coalition of Burkina. It is inspired by the Dakar-Thieytou march, organized each year by young Pan-Africanists in tribute to the Senegalese Cheick Anta DIOP, according to the representative of the walkers.
