According to investigations presented by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), Óscar Ortiz and Roberto d’Aubuisson, who were mayors of Santa Tecla for the FMLN and ARENA respectively, have links with a mafia structure, which could have financed the campaign of both.
Currently, the Prosecutor’s Office has issued an arrest warrant against the members of this mafia, who irregularly stole millionaire funds from several companies in the Central American region. Among those involved, Jorge Gaitán Paredes stands out, who was a representative of the company COLLOCATION TECHNOLOGIES EL SALVADOR, LTDA DE CV, as well as his son, Jorge Alberto Gaitán Castro.
Likewise, for the members already captured, the Public Ministry has requested prison.
