Businesses do not have financial backing

MEXICO CITY (El Universal).— In order for companies to grow, it is necessary that they have financial support, because 6 out of 10 businesses have not obtained it, according to statistical information.

The National Business Financing Survey (Enafin) showed that 43% of companies received financing at some point, in addition to two out of three businesses going to commercial banks to request a loan, said Concanaco-Servytur.

The president of said organization, Octavio de la Torre Steffano, said that between 2015 and 2021, the percentage of companies that have requested financing since the beginning of operations increased from 40% to 47%.

The leader of Concanaco-Servytur assured that to promote the growth of family businesses he will promote the placement of financial support, training and creation of trusts. Although most companies have not received financing, “nine out of every 10 small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) had at least one banking product or service, a figure that increases to 96% for large companies.”

He said that the organization is proposing that Nafin assume a more active role as a first-tier bank, facilitating access to financing for a greater number of companies and family businesses.
