Given the costs associated with maintenance and opening it to the public, Mr. Garneau specifies that he could not sell the property to the first comer and that he wanted to find a buyer who would know how to take care of it. and cherish it with the same passion he has since 1998.

“Not just anyone can buy a house like this. There are people who have money, but who don’t have a passion for culture, history and heritage. Fortunately, this is not the case with Pierre Karl”, he raises.

Louis Garneau would also like the handover to take place on June 24, on Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, so that everything is even more meaningful. This will depend on when approval from the Ministry of Culture and Communications is given.

A historical monument

Even today, this house built in 1864 still has its charm of yesteryear, because it has always been preserved and treated with care by successive owners.

Virtually nothing has changed since its inception. For example, the original woodwork is still intact, as is a rich library of a hundred books, all of inestimable value.
