The production house Falcon Pictures and Starvision will soon be releasing their new film entitled Buya Hamka. The film, which has been produced for nine years, is claimed to be one of the Indonesian films with the highest production costs.
“In our opinion, the film that was extraordinary in production started in 2014, when Pak Din Syamsuddin was chairman of the MUI, it took nine years of work and had the biggest production cost in history,” said Chand Parwez as producer during a press conference in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta , Thursday (23/3/2023).
The Buya Hamka film is a biopic film adapted from a hero from Minangkabau. His figure is a role model for many people.
“There is one thing that I have not forgotten about him, he is someone who has complete skills, he is a kyai, writer, culturalist, he is also a journalist and head of household who loves his family,” said Chand Parwez.
“His character and greatness become a role model for us,” he added.
Fajar Bustomi, who is believed to be the director, also admitted that the opportunity to work on this film was a tremendous blessing for him.
“Directing this film is an extraordinary blessing. I read from Buya Hamka’s book that the words are really beautiful, the more faith a person has, the more he will love God’s creatures. Hopefully this film will give peace to the audience,” said Fajar Bustomi.
The figure of Buya Hamka himself is played by Vino G Bastian. According to him, the figure of Buya Hamka is a figure who has a big influence on the Indonesian nation.
“This film is actually Buya Hamka’s love letter to religion, to Islam, to his nation, to his family, to the journalist press media where he struggles through. Hopefully this can be an entertaining spectacle and can be watched at any time,” said Vino G Bastian.
On the same occasion, Laudya Cynthia Bella, who plays Buya Hamka’s wife, Siti Raham, hopes that this film can be a lesson for the community.
