After rationalization, only 8 of the 44 sites used by the Walloon administration should remain.

The real estate strategy of the public service of Wallonia (SPW), which mainly involves grouping of its locations, will represent over the period 2023-2030 a gain of more than 7 million euros for the Region, assured Walloon Budget Minister Adrien Dolimont (MR) on Friday. “Our objective is to have balanced and reasonable management of the regional public real estate stock, in line with major environmental issues, including the energy performance of buildings and mobility, while taking into account new work practices and well-being of workers”, he explained during the visit to the construction site of the new administrative site South Capea few steps from Namur station.

“At the end of this work, a thousand agents from the SPW General Secretariat, bringing together all support services, will join this new administrative site.”

Sylvie Marique

General Secretary of the SPW

The building of 24,000 m2of which the Region is a tenant, should welcome its first workers in spring 2025, after a phase of development work (wiring, partitions, sanitary facilities, etc.) subject to public procurement procedures. “At the end of this work which will begin next spring and which should last 14 months, a thousand agents from the SPW General Secretariat, bringing together all support services, will join this new administrative site. The latter, with its energy certification and its proximity to public transport, fits perfectly with the strategy of the regional authorities”, for her part underlined Sylvie Marique, the general secretary of the SPW.

The Walloon capital currently has, excluding ministerial offices, 44 administrative and technical sites. After rationalization, there should only be 8 left.
