CAF LDC: “We will turn the situation around”, says Abdeslam Ouaddou’s successor

The Vita Club Sports Association is playing for its survival in the African Football Confederation Cup on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Beaten in South Africa a week ago, the black dolphins of Kinshasa believe in their strength to make up for lost time. Vita Club has no more options in front of it. “We have no cabbage! We must do everything to come back from 2 goals. It’s not impossible. It’s not the first time that a team has lost 2 goals to 0 away and come back,” said Raoul Shungu.

The now head of the technical staff had only 4 days to prepare for the reception of Stellenbosch at the Martyrs de la Pentecôte stadium. Raoul replaced Abdeslam Ouaddou whose resignation was confirmed in the middle of the week by the club’s management. “It is possible to come back from two goals down at home. What we did during the 4 days, physically and morally, is possible. I am counting on everyone’s contribution. We have a difficult task but not impossible,” said Shungu.

In the first leg, Vita Club received a cold shower in South Africa against Stellenbosch. The Muscovites were no match that day. Sunday at the Martyrs de la Pentecôte stadium, Vita Club will have to show a better defensive image and a formidable offensive efficiency. The African season of the green and black club depends on it.
