Call for permission and license application from YYK

The Supreme Board of Broadcasting (YYK) has called on all organizations in the country engaged in platform broadcasting and web TV broadcasting to apply for the necessary permits and licenses.

In the statement made by YYK, it was stated that the amended version of the Law on the Establishment and Broadcasting of Public and Private Radio and Television is in effect.
Pointing out that all organizations engaged in web TV broadcasting within the scope of the law are obliged to operate by obtaining a license from the Broadcasting High Council, the following was noted:
“All organizations engaged in web TV broadcasting operating on the effective date of the law have the right to be exempt from paying license and application fees if they apply for a license within 6 months from the effective date of the law.
On the other hand, all web TV broadcasting organizations that started their activities after the law came into force unfortunately commit crimes because they are currently broadcasting without permission and license in accordance with the legislation.
In this respect, it is important for all web TVs that are currently broadcasting in our country to apply to the Broadcasting High Council and obtain their licenses, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on the Establishment and Broadcasting of Public and Private Radio and Television, as amended.
On the other hand, organizations that broadcast platforms in our country are also obliged to obtain a license from the High Council of Broadcasting. The financial obligations of the institutions operating in this framework have started as of October 2022 in accordance with the amendment law.
Our Board reminds that all organizations in both platform broadcasting and web TV broadcasting in our country should make the necessary permit and license applications without delay in order to protect themselves against the possibility of committing any crime in the future and to avoid victimization, and wishes all broadcasters success in their activities. ”
