Publisher Activision Blizzard and developer Treyarch have shown the Zombies mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023) through a complete cinematic trailer focused on the creatures and characters. As die-hard fans of the saga will know, this is the first appearance of the Zombies mode in the Modern Warfare subseries, since it was usually the star mode of the Black Ops subsaga. “Prepare to face a greater number of undead than ever before as the members of Operation Deadbolt embark on difficult, multi-phase tasks while Soap and company try to stop Zakhaev and Terminus from looting more resources, all while trying to contain the threat before it spreads out of control,” reads the description of Zombies mode. “Combining the best of Modern Warfare’s map features and systems with the core features of Treyarch’s Zombies, Modern Warfare Zombies introduces a new twist on the fan-favorite third game mode, launching alongside the Campaign. and Multiplayer when Modern Warfare III is released.”
“Prepare to contain the raid through different regions that escalate in difficulty, with basic Zombies features and a cavalcade of secrets to discover. Prepare for an open world, player versus environment (PvE) extraction survival experience, shared with other squads, along with a series of special story missions. You will face a wide variety of unique elements and challenges, as well as cinematics that will reinforce the development of the story,” the description concludes.

“Sledgehammer Games has had the honor of directing, for the first time and in collaboration with Treyarch, a zombies mode in an installment of Modern Warfare. On this occasion, the mode in question has been described as a kind of DMZ combined with undead, following a little in the wake of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War but with an even larger map full of possibilities. In Modern Warfare 2019 we were going to have a zombies mode, but it ended up being discarded, now Activision may have rescued some of those ideas raised years ago to give it a spin in Modern Warfare 3,” we tell you in our most recent preview.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023) will go on sale next November 10 for PlayStation, Xbox and PC consoles.
