Ukrainian cities were hit by large-scale air strikes. On the morning of the 10th, Russia launched missiles at cities such as Kyiv and Zaporozhye, causing damage to buildings and killing many civilians. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Intelligence Service (GUR) pointed out on the 9th that Russia is forcing “little brother” Belarus to openly participate in the war.
“Ukrainian State News Agency” reported that GUR spokesman Vadym Skibitskyi revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin recently held frequent meetings with Belarusian President Lukashenko to force Belarus to openly join the war with Ukraine.
Belarus has repeatedly provided strong Russian support since the war began in February, but Lukashenko did not admit until October 4 that the country was involved in Russia’s military operations against Ukraine. This has also sparked speculation about Lukashenko’s intentions.
The Ukrainian State News Agency also reported that Lukashenko threatened to take “severe measures” in response to his claim that Ukraine planned an attack on Belarusian territory. Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin has warned that the country has nearly 500,000 trained recruits who could join the Ukrainian conflict if necessary.
Lukashenko also announced today that in view of the war on Russia’s western border, joint forces with Russia will be deployed in Belarus, and if the threat continues to escalate, a war will begin.
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry also suddenly summoned the Ukrainian ambassador on the 8th and issued a diplomatic note accusing Ukraine of planning to attack Belarusian territory.
GUR pointed out that Belarus’ move may be part of Russia’s provocative plan.
