Cameroonian State Grants 100 Million FCFA Financing to University of Maroua Incubator: Boosting Student Entrepreneurship and Innovation

The Cameroonian State has granted financing of 100 million FCFA to the incubator of the University of Maroua, located in the northern part of the country. This financing agreement was signed between the Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME), Achille Bassilekin III, and the rector of the university, with the aim of supporting the activities of the incubator hosted at the École nationale supérieure polytechnique .

Thanks to this financial envelope, the incubator will be upgraded to allow to students of Polytech and other schools of the university to realize their ideas and projects in companies.

According to Professor Idrissou Alioum, Rector of the University of Maroua, “this financial support from the Cameroonian State will contribute to the professionalization of teaching and the emergence of student-entrepreneurs within the establishment. With the diversity of the Grandes Ecoles present on the campus, the University of Maroua is transformed into a real laboratory allowing the implementation of the government policy in terms of professionalization and student entrepreneurship, explains the Minister of SMEs.

This funding will provide a major boost to the University of Maroua incubator, thus promoting business creation and innovation among students. It also testifies to the Cameroonian State’s commitment to the development of entrepreneurship and professional training within the country’s university institutions.
