OTTAWA, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — Public Health Canada (PHAC) has confirmed 1,206 cases of monkey pox in the country, including 32 hospitalized cases. Wednesday (Aug 24), with the number of new cases across the country tending to slow down in the past few weeks. But the disease has spread to more regions.

The new cases included 583 from Ontario, 471 from Quebec, 125 from British Columbia, 19 from Alberta, and three from Saskatchewan, the agency said. Two Yukon borders, one each for New Brunswick, Manitoba and Nova Scotia.
