Canadian woman dies in emergency room after seven hours of waiting

Ottawa – “Al-Quds Al-Arabi”: A Canadian woman died after waiting seven hours in the emergency room, in an accident that sparked great controversy in the country.

Her family blamed the death on complications from Canada’s poor healthcare system.

“I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family of the patient, who passed away at Cumberland Regional Healthcare,” Canada’s Minister of Health and Wellness, Michelle Thompson, wrote in a statement released Monday.

“This is a tragic loss, and my heart goes out to them,” she added. I understand they want answers.”

And the Nova Health System healthcare program has launched an investigation, known as a quality review, to determine what happened.

“We are seeking to see how we can do better, and what we can do to prevent it from happening in the future,” the statement added.

Allison Holthoff, 37, went to the hospital after complaining she was not feeling well on New Year’s Eve.She told her family that she was experiencing pain in her stomach that kept getting worse over time.

Holthoff’s husband, Gunther, took her to the hospital as her condition became more serious, and there She waited for seven hours for someone to take care of her, but she ended up dying.

Gunther told reporters on Monday that he still did not know the cause of his wife’s death.
He added, “Unfortunately, I feel that she has been neglected, and it has reached a point where they can no longer ignore us. It was a terrible situation for my wife, children and many people in the community.”
