Canadians would work to get Dubois

The day before the free agent market opens, the Montreal Canadiens are said to be actively working to acquire Pierre-Luc Dubois from the Winnipeg Jets.

This is reported by Radio-Canada journalist Martin Leclerc, who adds that the CH and the Jets have almost come to an agreement in the draft. He also mentions that the Habs want to obtain Dubois “in the long term”.

Dubois, 24, had 60 points, including 28 goals, last season with the Jets. The native of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, initially drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in third place overall in 2016, is a restricted free agent who must sign a new contract.

The general manager of the CH, Kent Hughes, does not skimp on the efforts to improve his training, he who acquired the center player Kirby Dach in the repechage. Moreover, according to Renaud Lavoie, a CH transaction concluded during the selection session could be announced shortly by the organization.
