Canal+ is coming to the rescue of the struggling Viaplay platform. The encrypted channel has acquired a 29.33% stake in the Swedish streaming operator.
To everyone’s surprise, Canal+ took a stake last summer in the group nicknamed the “European Netflix”, taking 12% and becoming the largest shareholder, even though Viaplay was going through a difficult time.
