“Cannes Film Festival’s Critics’ Week Selects “Vincent Must Die,” Co-Produced by Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cinema”

The programming of the 62nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival Critics’ Week has just been published. The film by Stephan Castang, Vincent must die, is selected in a special session. Shot in the region, the film is co-produced by Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cinema, with the support of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region.

After three short films which had a notable career in festivals (Clermont-Ferrand, Pantin, Brest, etc.), Stéphan Castang directed his first feature film, “a tense and scary genre film” according to Anna Cahen, general delegate of Critics’ Week.

The film was largely shot in the Rhônebetween September and October 2022, mainly at Lyon (Croix Rousse, Vaise, Bellecour, Old Lyon, Confluence, Gorge-de-Loup…) and Theizéas well as Oullins et Serezin-du-Rhone. Filming ended at the end of October in Pays-de-la-Loire.
