As the Valais canton police wrote on Thursday, a 12-year-old boy died on Wednesday (March 16) following falling into a stream. The fatal accident happened just before 5 p.m. in the municipality of Troistorrents near Monthey. The child was traveling with another boy when he suddenly fell over steep terrain into the La Vieze stream.
After the arrival of the rescue workers, the boy was flown by helicopter to the University Hospital in Lausanne, where the doctors might only determine that he was dead. He was a resident of the region. The public prosecutor’s office, in cooperation with the cantonal police, has one
investigation initiated.
