Death of a woman after a collision on a Vaud road
A 58-year-old Swiss woman died on Saturday after colliding with a car that swerved onto the wrong road in the canton of Vaud.
A road accident left one dead and four injured on Saturday evening around 7:30 p.m. on the road to Juriens in the canton of Vaud. The driver of a car died on the spot after colliding with a car that swerved onto the wrong road. The days of the driver, injured, are not counted.
The car of the 58-year-old Swiss resident in the region ended its race in the field below, the Vaud cantonal police said on Sunday in a communiqué. The driver was carrying three people with her. Injured, they were transported by ambulance to the Northern Vaudois hospital in Yverdon-les-Bains. Their days are not in danger.
An investigation has been opened to determine the precise circumstances of the accident. The investigations were entrusted to the traffic units of the Vaud Gendarmerie. The road was closed to traffic until 4:30 a.m. for the purposes of the report.
