Captain Aspiration First Female Combat Pilot | Indian Army

New Delhi: Captain Abhilash Barak has written a new history in the Army. She aspired to be the first woman to become a pilot (combat aviator) in the offensive division of the Aviation Corps, the Air Force. Hailing from Panchkula, Haryana. Army’s Rudra helicopter will also fly the aspiration.

After completing pilot training at the Army Academy in Nashik, Abhilash officially added the emblem (wings) to his uniform as part of becoming a pilot. Until now, women have been assigned to air traffic control and ground duty.

Abhilash joined the army in September 2018. Father and brother are members of the army. Her brother, who graduated from the Indian Military Academy years ago, witnessed the passing out parade and was inspired to join the army.
