Regional culture – what is that exactly? It brings and keeps people together, is the lifeline in communities and regions and shows its liveliness and diversity in thousands of events. A new competition aims to “capture” how much the regional culture is determined by feelings and sensations, but also how it can trigger positive emotions.
On the occasion of the day of regional culture, the Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich invites you to the competition “Regional culture is diversity”. Creative approaches to the topic are required here, people who live in Lower Austria or who have a connection to the Lower Austrian regional culture can take part.
The “poetry” and power of the regional culture should be expressed with a short text or poem, with meaningful photos or lively videos.
Regional culture has many faces
“Regional culture is so many things and covers a spectrum that affects every Lower Austrian in some way. Whether you are connected to the music school, visit regional museums, are an artist, make music and write about the region, continue your education in the communities or participate in a traditional costume group or a choir,” says Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich Managing Director Martin Lammerhuber.

The purpose of the competition is also to emphasize the strength and common basis of regional cultural work and cultural volunteering. “Ultimately, dealing with one’s own approaches to regional culture also creates a self-confidence that inspires all cultural activity in our state.”
Conditions of Participation
The contributions can be sent to [email protected] until September 30, 2023.
In the Photos category, up to five digital photographs in JPEG format with a maximum file size of three megabytes per image can be submitted. Texts should be written in German, sent in the form of a common text file and no longer than 2,500 characters including spaces. A maximum duration of 90 seconds is stipulated for videos.
