Car crashes into swimming pool in Clarens VD – driver dies

According to the cantonal police of Vaud, the woman crashed her car into a swimming pool at around 9.50 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Accordingly, the French citizen previously drove through a hedge and might not leave her car immediately following the accident. An eyewitness was finally able to help the 88-year-old out of her vehicle and the water.

When paramedics arrived, the woman was lying lifeless at the edge of the pool. The police immediately performed a cardiac massage before the casualty was taken to the Riviera-Chablais hospital in serious condition. However, she died as a result of her injuries.

The public prosecutor’s office has been informed and the public prosecutor on duty has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of this accident. The investigations are entrusted to the specialists of the traffic unit of the gendarmerie, as the cantonal police write.
