A video clip circulating on the communication platforms showed a large cargo plane making an emergency landing in a breathtaking manner, while the owner company confirmed that the serious accident did not result in any injuries.
According to the “Daily Mail” newspaper, the “Boeing 747” cargo plane had taken off flying towards O’Hare Airport in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
Immediately after take-off, the flight crew noticed that the take-off wheels could not be retracted as usual, which appeared to be a malfunction.
When the plane landed, 45 minutes after take-off, it slid so violently on the runway that its rear wheels separated.
The company, “Cargolux”, which owns the plane, explained that what happened on Sunday evening was a “serious landing accident.”
The plane had to dump fuel in the air before carrying out the landing, which ended in a controlled manner.
The company indicated that the plane is still on the runway, while measures are being taken to rehabilitate it.
