A 61-year-old Carinthian lost consciousness on Tuesday while driving a bus. A 49-year-old bus driver who was in the vehicle on a school trip grabbed the steering wheel, but was no longer able to avoid a collision with the concrete barrier of a safety island. No one was injured, police said.
Passengers remained uninjured
The man suddenly complained of health problems while driving. The 49-year-old managed to bring the bus to a stop after about 100 meters on the opposite lane of the road. There were six passengers in the vehicle who, like the driver, were uninjured. The 61-year-old, who had regained consciousness, was taken to the Klagenfurt Clinic for evaluation.
