It was the photo that launched thousands of speculations. In the image, released by the comedian’s Instagram account Carlos Alvarezthe comedian can be seen in an ATV office with producer Ney Guerrero and his colleague Jorge Benavidez. The return of “El especial del humor”? A new project? Theories turned to the remotest possibilities.
To clarify the matter, Trade spoke with Carlos Álvarez himself, who assured us that the meeting between the two comedians was a fortuitous eventalthough he did not completely rule out that there are possibilities that they could work together again.
“We see it very difficult, because he (Jorge Benavides) has already made his career and I have mine too, each one in his program, and many years ago because we are not togetherAlvarez noted. “But well, it can be said that the doors are never completely closed and this happened, which for many followers was a happy coincidence, because they never stop bombarding us with messages that they want ‘El especial del humor’ to come back”.
Launched in 2003 by Latina, “El especial del humor” was one of the most important comedy programs of its time, touching on the often depressing national reality with comedy on topics such as politics, soccer and entertainment. Carlos Álvarez and Jorge Benavides were a duo until 2011, when Álvarez resigned from the program due to circumstances with the television network, ending what many considered the best period of the show, which lasted three more years.
Despite not wanting to confirm anything, Carlos Álvarez kept open the possibility that there could be a surprise soon. “All I can tell you is who knows. I cannot assure you of anything, because it would be irresponsible, but it may be that there will be a surprise in the next few hours“, he claimed. “I think he (Jorge) was flexible to a possibility. And I really appreciate his work, he is a great professional. We have worked 8 and a half years together, which is no small thing, it is like a marriage.”
Carlos Álvarez stressed that both he and Jorge Benavides are happy on their respective channels and additionally revealed, and quite apart from the possible surprise that he insinuated, that both have talked about appearing as guests on their programs.
Support for children with cancer
Carlos Álvarez also revealed that he will be present this September 3 at the Minka shopping center as part of a collection in favor of the Casa Magia Hostel, an entity that supports children with cancer. Attendees will be able to take ‘selfies’ and ask the artist for autographs and, more importantly, support this non-profit organization that makes it possible to treat cancer patients regardless of their economic circumstances.
And for those who want to see him in other matters of his profession, Carlos Álvarez pointed out that he will have presentations on September 8 and 15 at the Barranco Station, while on the 10th of the same month he will present himself in the auditorium of the University of Piura .
