América de Cali generated many movements in the Colombian football transfer market and one of the most striking departures was that of Carlos Darwin Quintero, who left for his beloved Deportivo Pereira.
Until now, the exact reason for Quintero’s departure from the scarlet team was not known and although it was speculated that there was friction between him and former coach Lucas González, the same player decided to give statements to Win Sports about his time dressed as a devil.
The ‘Goal Scientist’ assured that there were no problems with Lucas González, but he did make it clear that he left because it was not part of the plan for this season and he decided to say goodbye to the team.
“The truth is with Lucas (González) there were never problems. When I left América, it was for football reasons, they told me that he wanted other types of players,” said Carlos Darwin Quintero.
For now, Quintero will continue his career at Deportivo Pereira and there he hopes to be a top figure this season in which he hopes to be part of the successful team’s current team from Matecaña.
