Carnatic music teacher Ratnakaran Bhagwatar passes away

Thiruvananthapuram: Blessed artist who started a simple music lesson for the first time on All India Radio; Carnatic music teacher Ratnakaran Bhagwatar passes away He was 95 years old. He was the music section artist of All India Radio, Thiruvananthapuram.

He lived in a house in Shiva Nagar near the Srikanteshwara temple in Thiruvananthapuram.

Performing in public at the age of 16‌
Bhagavathar entered the music industry and performed a concert by renowned artist Vaikom Vasudevan Nair. At the age of 16, he sang at a concert at Sivagiri Math and won a gold medal.

Ratnakaran Bhagavathar was the first to start a simple music lesson on All India Radio. The Sri Ratnakaran Bhagavathar Sangeethasabha, which was started in his name, presented the first Sangeetharathnakaram Award in his name to Dr. Perumbavoor Rabindranath on the 6th of this month.
