The Carolina Hurricanes are in the NHL Eastern Conference Finals!
The Hurricanes eliminated the New Jersey Devils in the second round of the playoffs with a 3-2 home win following overtime. With 4:1 Carolina decided the series clearly for themselves.
Game five is by no means a clear affair. The Devils take the lead twice in the game through Mercer (16′) and Meier (28’/PP), but Slavin (21′) and Burns (40′) equalize the game once more.
In the end, a power play hit by Fast (68./PP) brings the decision in overtime.
In the Eastern Conference Finals Carolina is now waiting for the winner of the duel between the Forida Panthers and the Toronto Maple Leafs (Panthers lead the series 3:1 >>>).
