Kottayam ∙ Rahul Jobi (24), a personal staff member of Pala MLA Mani C. Kappan, died in a car accident at Vallicira Thottapalli. At 12.30 pm, another vehicle hit Rahul’s vehicle in Etumanur. The accident took place on the Etumanoor bypass on the way to pick up the goods from the Kottayam home of a relative who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Pala.
Rahul’s car was hit by another car. Eyewitnesses said that due to the impact of the thunder, the car in which Rahul was traveling skidded and hit the pick-up van loaded with goods.
It hit the back seat of the car where Rahul was sitting. Rahul was seriously injured and was admitted to the medical college but his life could not be saved. Two others were injured. Rahul’s cremation later.
