It is worth remembering that in January the District, through the Ministry of Education, guaranteed the PAE for more than 106,000 students from the Official Educational Institutions (IEO) and more than 45,000 in the institutions that are part of the bank of bidders for contracted tuition, and thus ensure the feeding of the children upon their return to the classrooms without setbacks.

More than two months after said assurance, through the implementation of fundamental measures to ensure the comprehensive provision of the educational service of which cleaning, surveillance and the School Feeding Plan (PAE) are part, the District awarded this contract, the value of which is $38,513 million, to the Unión Temporal Bienestar Colectivo, who will provide essential services for the children of Cartagena.

“One of our campaign promises and highlighted lines of our government program is that school feeding is always guaranteed. A day that does not happen is a day that we fail as a government in addressing the rights to a dignified life, food and comprehensive education of our children. That, combined with quality in their learning, is the best formula to build a better city,” said Dumek Turbay, mayor of Cartagena.

And he highlighted: “The order we gave is that this process, this contracting be the most transparent and that is why the public bidding returned in the PAE of Cartagena.”

The PAE is part of the District Administration’s continuous commitment to strengthening the educational system, ensuring adequate conditions for the learning and growth of students.
