Breathe a sigh of relief at 1. FC Köln! The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has suspended the Fifa ruling, according to which Cologne is not allowed to register any players for two transfer periods.

Is called: The transfer ban does not come into effect for the time being, Cologne can sign players in the summer and has a completely normal transfer period ahead of it!

A final decision as to whether the verdict remains in the end should not be made until autumn. That doesn’t matter to Cologne for the time being, because head of sport Christian Keller (44) can now put together his squad for the new season.

Pure goosebumps! Emotional video from the Cologne cabin released

Rückblick: At the end of March, Fifa Cologne issued a transfer ban with immediate effect over two change periods.

Reason: FC are accused of inciting U19 striker Jaka Cuber Potocnik (17) to break a contract with his then-club Ljubiljana.

The top talent had his Ljubljana contract terminated by his mother on January 30, 2022 and is said to have signed a contract with 1. FC Köln the day after.

The verdict document literally said that “Cologne, was unable to provide sufficient evidence to rebut the relevant presumption and is therefore presumed to have caused the player to breach the contract, which, in the opinion of the Chamber clearly from the facts and evidence on file.”

Cologne has appealed the verdict. The suspension is already a huge success – and damn important for planning the coming season!

The free transfer from Leart Paqarada (28) is now taking place. The left-back had long been in agreement with FC, but had to tremble after the Fifa verdict. Now the still captain can switch to his dream club.

Cologne is now hoping that the verdict will also be completely revised.
