Casablanca Stock Exchange: Week of July 24-28 Recap and Top Performers

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week of July 24 to 28 in the green, its main index, the MASI, gaining 2.25% to 12,058.66 points (pts).

The MASI.20, which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies, and the MASI.ESG, an index of companies with the highest ESG ratings, as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, gained 2.26 respectively. % at 979.1 pts and 2.59% at 908.1 pts.

The MASI Mid and Small Cap, thematic index which calculates the price performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, rose by 0.95% to 945.14 pts. At the sector level, 4 indices ended down, 18 up and 1 remained stable. The transport sector showed the largest decline (-2.84%), followed by real estate (-1.39%), and finance companies and other financial activities (-0.63%).

On the other hand, the telecommunications sector recorded the strongest increase (10.65%), ahead of those of agri-food (5.29%) and chemicals (4.76%). The overall volume of trade amounted to 747.25 million dirhams (MDH), including 587.62 MDH on the central market, 103.99 MDH on the block market, 95,304 MAD transfer, and 55 .53 MDH capital increase. On the podium of the most active stocks of the week, Itissalat Al-Maghrib is in the lead with a volume of 92.29 MDH, followed by BCP (67.88 MDH) and Attijariwafa Bank (59.85 MDH).

Market capitalization stood at 624.68 billion dirhams (MMDH).

On the values ​​front, the biggest drops of the week were recorded by Afric industries (-6.76% to 345 DH), CTM (-4.68% to 609.10 DH), Fennie Brossette (- 4, 13% to 106.75 DH), Totalenergies marketing Maroc (-3.75% to 12.32 DH), and Auto Hall (-3.03% to 80 DH). The best performances were achieved by Itissalat al-Maghrib (+10.65% to 109.65 DH), Timar (+7.81% to 483 DH), Cosumar (+7.47% to 214 95 DH), Stroc industry (+5.53% to 34.93 DH), and SNEP (+4.94% to 574 DH).
