Regardless of what age we are currently, fashion gives us a wonderful opportunity to define our personality. At 50 plus we should definitely not allow ourselves to be restricted. Rules about what you can or can no longer wear when you’re 50 plus are a thing of the past. Ladies who have a certain amount of life experience know their style and like to try something new.

At 50+ we are still fully employed. At this age we often start our own company or start from scratch in a new job. Women 50+ are braver than our mothers or grandmothers ever were at this age.

It is the time when we no longer have to prove ourselves. No question – ladies 50 plus are not uncommon at business meetings, as speakers, seminar leaders, branch managers and as successful entrepreneurs. We are fully aware of what we can do and we express that through our personality.

Nowadays there are several definitions of the business look. On the one hand we are talking about the formal business look and on the other hand there is the casual business look.

The gradation between the two terms lies between a casual and a somewhat more elegant outfit.

The formal business look

Ladies wear a costume or a pantsuit. The colors are rather subtle, such as black, gray, blue, anthracite.
A light-colored blouse is preferred underneath. A thin silk turtleneck or a high-necked shirt can also be combined under the blazer.
The pants should be made of a high quality fabric. Just like dresses, skirts and blazers.
Jewelry is coordinated with the outfit and is not the focus.
Open shoes or sandals are not part of the formal business look.

Der Casual Business Look

Overall, the outfit is more casual and casual. However, this does not mean that this means a jogging outfit or homewear.
Blazers in combination with shirts, jeans and chinos are modern and contemporary.
The casual business look is appropriate for business trips, meetings and business dinners.
Sneakers and ballet flats are wearable.
Skirts and dresses have patterns or trendy prints. The length of the hem should be knee length in a casual business look.

My business look with a skirt and blazer

My business look today consists of a knitted pencil skirt, a shirt and a red blazer. I also wear black pumps and a black handbag.

A pencil skirt is a must-have for women over 50. It can be worn in business as well as for private occasions. In your free time it can be combined with a cool sweater and it has a casual effect.

The classic blazer is an absolute all-rounder. One of the most versatile pieces of clothing that we as women over 50 should have in our wardrobe. Whether in your free time, in the office or while traveling – a blazer can do anything and suits every occasion.

What belongs to the stylish business look for women 50plus

Chic trousers, a well-fitting skirt or a stylish wrap dress exude professionalism and style. With a blazer you are always on the right side when it comes to business combinations. Choose a shirt or a cool blouse as a suitable bottom. We definitely don’t have to do without colors.

Anyone who likes to wear black in business always exudes authority. Dark blue looks serious and is often better received by our counterparts than a black suit or black trouser suit. A white or light blouse represents freshness and often makes the complexion look more flattering. With the right color we can positively emphasize our color type.

A stylish pair of pumps doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. If you can’t walk well in heels, you’ve found a good alternative with a chic loafer in a business look.

Make up and hairstyle
