Colo Colo’s idol Carlos Caszely confessed that the image that the fans chose for his statue in the Monumental Stadium it wasn’t the one he would have chosen if it depended on him.
In dialogue with on courtCaszely expressed: “I like the one with ‘It happened’, undoubtedly, it’s the one I like the most, because to this daywhen a player makes a good move in the neighbourhood, they say: ´Oh it happened, it happened´”.
“It was a difficult moment, a complicated moment in our lives, in our history, in our country. Very few of us could declare our position to a dictatorship,” added the Chilean soccer legend.
The “It happened” was a cry that the fans dedicated to him in the 1973 Copa Libertadores, in which the “Cacique” reached the final. Instead, fans chose another mythical fist-raised celebration.
The monument will be built by the Colo Colo Social and Sports Club.
