The thirteenth circuit of the Assiut Criminal Court closed the curtain on the facts of Case No. 3071 of 2022, the crimes of the Al-Ghanayem Center, in which the accused, “Ahmed A.,” for blackmailing a girl from the Menoufia governorate and threatening her with publishing inappropriate conversations, videos, and pictures of her through social networking sites Facebook and the WhatsApp application.
The details of the incident began with the receipt of a report to Ashmoun Police Station, Menoufia Governorate, from A.A.A., that a person had contacted his 17-year-old daughter, “H”, on social networks, and attempted to blackmail her and demand sums of money from her for not publishing pictures of her.
By codifying the procedures, the investigations officers of the General Administration of Information Technology concluded that the owner of the account was called “M.M.”, 31 years old, residing in Al-Azayza village in Al-Ghanayem district in Assiut.
Investigations revealed that the accused got acquainted with the victim via Facebook, and a relationship developed between them that developed into communication via the “WhatsApp” application, and they exchanged conversations, which developed into a “video” video, and the victim became dressed in her home clothes, which had some transgressions and was not appropriate for her to appear in public.
The matter developed between them until they had sexual conversations over the phone, until the victim’s conscience woke up and she felt the horror of her act, so she refrained from talking to the accused, so he did not communicate with her and insulted her with inappropriate words and described her as a slut and of bad reputation and behavior and threatened to reveal her secret and publish the conversations and pictures that took place between them via The social networking site and asked her for 5,000 pounds in exchange for not publishing the conversations and pictures, so she relented to his threat and sent him an amount of money.
The accused called her once more and threatened her to publish the sexual conversations that took place between them, but she refused to comply with his desire once more, but he carried out his threat and published pictures of her in order to expose her among her family and the public. He managed to communicate with her father and sent him what was between him and his daughter threatening her father. By publishing conversations with his daughter, demanding that he send 5,000 pounds for not publishing the conversations and pictures on social media, the father relented to prevent his daughter from being exposed, and sent him 150 pounds. After the accused threatened the victim and her father, and repeated his request to send sums of money to him, the victim’s father submitted a complaint to Ashmoun Police Station in Menoufia until the administration reached General IT to the accused.
The thirteenth circuit of the Assiut Criminal Court, headed by Chancellor Hefni Abdel-Fattah Hefny, the president of the court, and the membership of counselors Mohamed Abdel-Hamid Al-Zari and Hazem Shawky Aqil, the two presidents of the court and the secretariat of Salah Tammam Mohamed and Ahmed Abdel-Al, punished the accused worker with imprisonment with labor for a period of two years.
