Instead of his general policy declaration, the Prime Minister is preparing “a program of general suffering”, said the coordinator of France Insoumise, Manuel Bompard, on Monday.
Gabriel Attal, January 20, 2024.

Gabriel Attal “claimed to receive us to prepare a general policy speech. We rather had the feeling that we were preparing for a program of general suffering,” declared, at the end of an interview with the Prime Minister, the LFI deputy Manuel Bompard alongside the leader of the LFI deputies Mathilde Panot. “What is on the agenda on February 1 of this year is an immense explosion in the cost of living,” added the rebellious official.
According to Ms. Panot, who said she met “the president’s spokesperson” Emmanuel Macron, the head of government does not want to “return” to the increase of almost 10% in electricity prices, nor put in place a “control of margins” made by supermarkets and agri-food manufacturers or “floor prices” for farmers, who are currently demonstrating once morest financial charges and environmental standards. The head of government “did not seem to understand the responsibility of his policy in this concern” of farmers, said LFI officials, who promised to “go to (their) meeting” to present their proposal in particular law on “floor prices” which was rejected in the fall.

According to Ms Panot and Mr Bompard, Gabriel Attal also described the deposit required from foreign students in the immigration law as “huge bullshit”. “It was the flash of lucidity of the meeting,” according to Mr. Bompard. But he told them that “yes”, the law would be promulgated regardless of the censorship of the Constitutional Council, which must rule on this text on Thursday. Mr. Attal also refused to comment before them on the controversies involving his Minister of National Education and Sports, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, they reported.
On the Socialist Party side, its First Secretary Olivier Faure deplored following his interview that Gabriel Attal was “there to make (Elisabeth) Borne faster, more powerful, to accelerate the program which had already been planned”, with a “third reform of unemployment insurance, nothing on (the prices of) electricity, nothing on purchasing power, nothing but the desire to continue to deregulate. “There is a way in him of saying ‘listen, I came from the left, but deep down I am only looking for on the right what might allow me to continue being Prime Minister,’ reported the PS leader alongside the leaders of deputies Boris Vallaud and senators Patrick Kanner.
“There is a form of assumed cynicism in (Gabriel Attal)”
Olivier Faure, First Secretary of the Socialist Party
The three officials expressed their “compassion” for the “mistreated” farmers but Mr. Faure judged that accelerating the construction of water reserves, as proposed by the Minister of Agriculture Marc Fesneau, was “not the path to follow” and that it was necessary to “reconcile” the ecological question and the agricultural question. “It is not by giving in to the pressure of a few that we will resolve the issue,” he said. Gabriel Attal continues his meetings this week with political forces and associations of elected officials to “feed” his general policy declaration of January 30.

The Canadian has big files on his hands ahead of the trade deadline.
One of them? David Savard. The Canadian must decide if the defender’s extra year of contract means that his best value will be this year, this summer or next year. Because yes, he should be traded.
Jake Allen? The goaltender, who faces the Senators tomorrow, should be tough to trade the way he plays. Planting the Sens tomorrow wouldn’t hurt, but how late is it for this year? #YearOfMoreContract
Head coach Martin St-Louis confirms that Jake Allen will start once morest Ottawa on Tuesday.

But whatever the stakes at the blue line or in front of the net, we know that one of the best values (if not the best) of the club at the deadline is Sean Monahan.
If we stay realistic, it is he who should bring in the most for CH.
We know that the CH considered keeping him, but that at the moment, we should expect to see the club exchange him. Kent Hughes will undoubtedly honor his promise to send him to a good team to finish the season.
I would keep it because of what it brings… but oh well.
At this point, the GM’s goal will be to determine when he leaves. He’s blocked by the fact that Elias Lindholm is obviously the teams’ #1 option at center, but still: Hughes won’t want to wait too long. Remember last year…
Note that this morning, as is often the case recently, Sean Monahan took advantage of a day off. Is this prevention? Who knows…

This means that eventually, as useful as it is for young people (talk to Joshua Roy), we should expect to see Sean Monahan take the management of a better hockey club.
But even if we know that several teams would be interested, the fact remains that we must wonder at what price Monahan would be traded in a few weeks.
Marc-Antoine Godin and Arpon Basu looked into the subject, precisely.
According to the observation made in their podcast (The Basu and Godin Notebook) recently, we can think that at this moment, the maximum value of Monahan is a second choice.
If he’s truly a second pick, I wonder if his best value wouldn’t be in Montreal – with a contract extension on his hands. But a promise is a promise…
But at the same time, is it surprising, considering that a big club would surely play him as a third center?
It is rare for a club to give a first choice for a third center. –Arpon Basu
In fact, it is not impossible to think that the price might rise. It’s especially Godin who seems to think it’s possible since Basu seems really skeptical regarding it.
The Radio-Canada journalist notably recalled that in 2022, Andrew Copp was traded from the Jets to the Rangers (with a distant choice) for a conditional first choice, a conditional second choice and a fifth choice.
And in Alberta, Copp was a third center. He was a rental player at $3.64 million, which is quite a bit more than Sean Monahan’s contract. Remember that he earns $1,985 million this season.
Let’s see how the file will be managed. But if Monahan continues his good work and Lindholm were to leave quickly, it would undoubtedly help the Flannel cause.
– Corey Perry’s contract in Edmonton is official. He should be at his team’s practice tomorrow.
Corey Perry can earn up to $325,000 in performance bonuses:
1. $225k for 10 games played
2. $50k if EDM wins the 2nd RD of the playoffs and Perry: a) plays in 50% of RD 2 games, or b) 50% of the total of RD 1 & 2 games
3. $50k if EDM wins the 3rd RD of the playoffs and Perry:…

– Has Patrick Roy ever been on the Blues’ radar?
Friedman on 32TP: “There are some teams who believed #STLBlues had (Patrick) Roy on their radar and it does kind of fit with the way Doug Armstrong thinks”

– Shane Pinto: he mightn’t wait to play.
Shane Pinto put a calendar on the kitchen wall and used a pen to mark off the days until his suspension ended.
On Sunday, that countdown ended.
While his teammates had their moms in Philadelphia, Pinto had a lot more family support to mark the occasion.

Raquel Argandoña She is hospitalized in the ICU of Clínica Alemana, following having suffered a complex health problem while recording in Mexico. The television figure would have advanced her trip to Chile as a result of this fact.
According to what was confirmed BioBioChile, Argandoña is hospitalized at the scene and under medical observation.
As detailed by Publimetro, the TV panelist herself indicated to Cecilia Gutiérrez that she is “complicated health”.
Due to the above, she herself would have made the decision to return “as soon as possible” to Chile, to be under medical observation.
Likewise, Gutiérrez indicated, those who supervised her in Mexico would have told her that she had to undergo an operation.
That option, according to the report, would be evaluated by the team at the medical center in Chile.
It should be noted that, in 2021, Raquel Argandoña had to undergo surgery following a diagnosis of intestinal obstruction.
At that time Patricia Maldonado, one of her best friends, indicated in an interview: “Raquel is a healthy and agile person. This has nothing to do with her age because it can happen to a 15-year-old kid. But she is made of iron. The old woman is strong, she is going to get out of this.”
The celebrity is currently 66 years old and is part of the program As it is, with José Miguel Viñuela and Maldonado herself.
