A 39-year-old transient man wanted for an alleged truck rampage through a Moorhead neighborhood was taken into custody Tuesday morning, August 25, 2026, following a tense 45-minute standoff at a South Fargo residence, according to local law enforcement reports.

The Morning Standoff on 15th Street South

Fargo police officers rushed to the 100 block of 15th Street South at approximately 8:28 a.m. on Tuesday after receiving reports of a domestic disturbance and a wanted individual. Upon arrival, responding units discovered that Timothy Lowseth, who carries no permanent address, had allegedly assaulted someone inside the home.

Rather than complying with lawful orders to exit the property, Lowseth barricaded himself inside. He reportedly threatened to inflict physical harm on any officers who attempted to breach the premises. Authorities quickly established a secure perimeter around the residence, initiating negotiations to de-escalate the volatile situation.

After roughly 45 minutes of communication with law enforcement, Lowseth finally walked out of the house. Officers took him into custody without further incident. Law enforcement subsequently transported him to the Cass County Jail, where he was booked on suspicion of terrorizing and preventing arrest.

Connecting to the South Moorhead Truck Rampage

Beyond the domestic disturbance and threats made in Fargo, Lowseth faced an active felony warrant tied to property destruction in neighboring Moorhead, Minnesota. Investigators linked him to a chaotic incident that occurred on July 30 in south Moorhead.

During that July rampage, Lowseth allegedly drove a pickup truck directly through a residential neighborhood, plowing through private yards, shattering fences, damaging multiple homes, and wrecking parked vehicles. The extensive trail of destruction prompted prosecutors to file four felony counts of first-degree damage to property against him.

Local authorities continue to process the multi-jurisdictional charges stemming from both the Moorhead property damage case and the subsequent assault and standoff in Fargo.
