The CBTC, the Chinese business incubator in Louvain-la-Neuve, finally has its first occupant!
This is the Belgian company Lims (MBnext group), medical analysis laboratory and European leader in preventive investigation biology. A way to take evil to its roots!
Since last February, the China-Belgium Technology Center has housed 140 scientists employed by the largest private medical analysis laboratory in the country (in terms of surface area). Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, Lims occupies 5000 m² over 7 floors. Its chromatography department alone occupies 600 m².
“Our site in Hornu (40 people) had become too small“, explains Mathieu Castronovo, general manager. “We needed more space, especially as our activities are growing. We analyze samples from all over the world. And the requests are increasing. We are also one of the rare private labs to be managed by a scientific committee. By coming to CBTC, we have other opportunities internationally, and perhaps also, with China“.
