Due to the urgent need for dental care in remote areas, a student initiative led by CDC – Community Dental Care, at Misr International University, is working to provide dental care to patients who suffer from a lack of care in these communities.

This charitable student initiative provides a wide range of services, including teeth and gum cleaning, pediatric dental care, fillings, and root canals, in addition to surgery. These services are performed by graduate volunteer dentists, who use the tools and materials at their disposal to provide care.

Since the beginning of the initiative in 2015, CDC has set up about 22 medical convoys, the latest of which was in Shibin al-Qanater, where it managed to treat 402 patients. This success reflects CDC’s commitment to providing medical and dental care to those who need it most.

Besides the medical convoys, CDC participates in other activities in the university and the local community. These include distributing Ramadan blankets and bags, and visiting orphanages and the elderly, not only to entertain them but also to raise awareness about the importance of oral health and how to preserve teeth.

It should be noted that CDC’s work is a great example of student volunteer spirit and initiatives that can make a real difference in people’s everyday lives. Projects like this are key to improving public health across the country.

Initiatives such as CDC – Community Dental Care are of great importance in supporting communities, especially communities that suffer from a lack of health services. These initiatives contribute to providing health care to individuals who may not be able to access these services due to geographical, economic or social barriers.

In practice, such initiatives provide basic medical services, which can contribute to improving the general health and daily life of individuals. In this context, an initiative such as the CDC can contribute to reducing the prevalence of oral and dental health-related diseases, thus reducing the burden on the community’s health system.

On the other hand, these initiatives play a very important role in promoting health awareness among individuals in the community. By providing awareness and education about the importance of dental health and how to maintain it, these initiatives can help individuals make better health choices.

Last, but certainly not least, initiatives such as the CDC provide opportunities for students and alumni to give service to the community and develop their medical and social skills. It provides a platform for learning and professional development, while contributing to positive change in society.

Thus, student philanthropic initiatives such as the CDC play a crucial role in promoting public health and community development. They contribute to creating a healthy and cooperative society, where everyone works together to improve life for all.
