New thematic cycle begins at Polyhedron with screenings of films by new creators. The short films of the father’s creator Alexander Verroi will be shown for the first time in the city, in the Polyhedron garden, on Friday, September 13, 8:30 in the evening. Specifically, the 12-minute fiction film “An Odd Friendship”, the 7:30-minute documentary “The Portrait” and the 3-minute animation “Moving on” will be shown.

Christine is a young girl with family problems who wants to kill herself. However, her opinion begins to change after an encounter with a “strange” friend. This film has been awarded 2nd prize in the European and 3rd prize in the Greek section of the 23rd Camera Zizanio film festival as well as a special mention at the 6th Short Film Festival of the Art School of Gerakas, on the occasion of “penetration and immersion in characterization of the heroes and the creative assimilation of the Bergmanian tradition”. Other film festival participations are Duemila 30 festival in Milan, Lift off filmmaker sections in Amsterdam, Leda’s monologues in Agrinio and Patras step film festival.

The film was created in the context of a film workshop in which the participants had to complete a film within 48 hours on the theme of the phrase from the film Metropolis “The future has always been in the realm of imagination”. It is to be screened at the 24th Camera Zizanio Film Festival.
Who is Alexander Verrius?
Alexandros Verroios was born and raised in Patras. He studies directing at the Lykourgos Stavrakos Film and Television School and is also a second-year student at the Department of Photography and Audiovisual Arts of the University of West Attica. He has been creating films since the age of 14, many of which have been screened at International and Greek Film Festivals. In 2022 he participated in the VBU International Film Workshop held in Sweden and Ireland.
