Celina Leão celebrates an agreement that will benefit more than 400,000 children

The contribution will be BRL 500,000 and should benefit more than 130,000 children and adolescents, assisted annually by the hospital

The Acting Governor of the Federal District, Celina Leão (PP) participated, this Friday (10), in an event that celebrated the agreement that serves more than 400 thousand children in the DF.

The BRB Bank, through the BRB Institute, and the Children’s Cancer and Specialized Pediatrics Institute (Icipe) signed an agreement term for investment in seven projects of the Hospital da Criança de Brasília José Alencar (HCB), this Friday (10 ). The contribution will be R$ 500,000 and should benefit more than 130,000 children and adolescents, assisted annually by the hospital.

The amount will be used to update the technological structure, create a playful and humane environment in the surgical center’s waiting room, modernize equipment and structure the realistic simulation space, maintain furniture and carry out the music therapy project and the communication channel with patients, called Rádio Dodói.

“These are projects with the aim of improving the quality of care and quality of life for children who use the hospital”, pointed out the president of the BRB, Paulo Henrique Costa. “We hope this is the first of many projects we will do together,” he added.

During the passage at the ceremony, acting governor Celina Leão stressed that the contribution portrays the excellence of the health unit. “This BRB resource will help the hospital flourish more and more, with beautiful projects that already exist and will not be finalized, but expanded”, she said.

“This hospital is better than many private hospitals. And that is what I dream of for the public health of the Federal District as a whole”, said Leão. “We have doctors here who are certainly 100% dedicated and take care of our children in a very special way”.

Inaugurated in November 2011, HCB serves exclusively through the Unified Health System (SUS) and, by the end of January this year, has already helped more than 6 million children and adolescents. “Today’s partnership strengthens the hospital project and the hospital as an institution. It is recognition of his role within the public health network”, says the technical director of HCB, Isis Magalhães.

The president of the Board of Directors of Icipe, Glória Guimarães, emphasizes the importance of investments in initiatives that allow the humanization of the patient. “We would like to call on society to come and help us in this movement to bring more resources to the hospital so that we can put more projects in place to better serve people and increasingly humanize care

Founding member of Incipe, Ilda Peliz, said she was happy with the signing of the agreement, considering that it shows the confidence of the banking institution and the government in the service provided by the children’s hospital. “BRB is bringing yet another evolution to HCB, more quality to our service”, she celebrated.
