Barcelona announced the absence of American defender Sergino Dest due to injury.
The Catalan club said in a statement on its website that tests confirmed Dest had a knee injury.
It was not clear whether the 21-year-old right-back would be able to return to action before the end of the current season.
It is reported that Dest was injured in the first half of the match that Barcelona lost 0-1 at home to Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish League, last Sunday.
Barcelona has only five games left in the season, and it is second in the Spanish League, 15 points behind rivals Real Madrid.
