Thiruvananthapuram: It is raining again in the state. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the southern districts today. Orange alert has been announced in three districts.
Orange alert has been announced in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts. Meanwhile, yellow alert has been announced in five districts.
Yellow alert has been announced in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts. A yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki districts on Friday.
No rain warning on Saturday and Sunday. But on Monday, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram and Wayanad districts will receive heavy rain at isolated places, the weather department has predicted.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center, there is a possibility of high waves of 0.5 to 1.8 meters along the Kerala coast till 11.30 pm on Thursday. Fishermen and coastal residents should be cautious.
