Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo became the best scorer in history during official matches, by scoring a hat-trick against Tottenham, on Saturday, in the twenty-ninth stage of the English Premier League, raising his yield to 807 goals.
Ronaldo erased the previous record of 805 goals, which was registered in the name of the Austrian Czechoslovakian, Josef Pekan, who has been considered to this day by several sources as the historical scorer.
Ronaldo had reached the 800-goal barrier in early December with a double against Arsenal (3-2).
The winner of the Golden Ball for the best player in the world scored five times 691 goals with his clubs, Sporting Portugal and Manchester United in two periods, Real Madrid and Juventus, Italy, and 115 goals with his country, where he is also considered his historical scorer.
According to the International Federation (FIFA), Bikan, who died on December 12, 2001, scored 805 goals between 1931 and 1955.
Brazilian legend Pele confirms on his account on “Instagram” that the total number of goals he scored during his career is 1283, with the number of unofficial matches counted. However, most sources agree on counting 767 goals for “King” Pele during official matches.
For his part, the other Brazilian former international Romario (55 years old), confirms that he scored a “personal yield” with 1,000 goals, by calculating the goals he scored in the youth categories and in friendly and exhibition matches, while other sources indicate that he scored 772 goals.
