CFE collaborates with the authorities for sexual assault on a woman

the state Federal electricity commission (CFE) reported this Monday that before the alleged physical aggression and sexual violence against a woman in a thermoelectric plant located in Chihuahua collaborates with authorities and will promote sanctions against those who are responsible.

In a statement, the CFE pointed out that the Gender and Inclusion Unit of the state company “has collaborated at all times with the competent authorities to provide the required information, in order to establish responsibilities and punish the facts.”

In addition, he said that he will promote that “the corresponding labor and administrative sanctions be applied to those who are responsible, in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement.

The CFE also pointed out that it condemns all types of violence against women, inside or outside the company.

“Respecting the life and integrity of women, without prejudice to their origin, provenance or affiliation, is the obligation of all the people who work at the CFE,” he said in the note.

The position of the CFE comes after last week in Juarez Cityone of the epicenters of the femicides that have plagued Mexico for decades, in the northern state of Chihuahua and border with the United States, women from the town of Samalayuca demonstrated to demand justice for Cynthiaa 31-year-old woman who was raped, tortured, mutilated and abandoned in a place by her aggressors, who they believed dead.

The events occurred on April 23, when the woman was invited to a party by a worker from the CFE. She accepted the invitation and hours after her arrival, unaware of her, they allegedly introduced a hallucinogenic substance in your drink.

Isabel, the victim’s aunt, told Efe that “after they put drugs on her, she (Cinthia) doesn’t remember much. But if she remembers the subjects who raped her.”

The young woman assured that she was not only raped, but also mutilated.

And since her attackers believed her dead, they abandoned her in a remote part of the city. They left her without realizing that she had her mobile phone and, therefore, the next day, when she came to her senses, she was able to communicate with her family.

The relative said that after the call for help she was taken to the Women’s Hospital “what they did to her was monstrous” and reported that in the Attorney General’s Office (Attorney General of the State of Chihuahua) “they are being sold” because those responsible have already been identified. , she (Cinthia) knows them “and no action has been taken against them”.

He also assured that Cinthia has already identified those responsible and has pointed them out, but there is no response from the authorities.

“She is emotionally ill, those responsible are on vacation from their work, it is not fair,” he lamented.

To obtain the position of the CFE, Efe tried to get a response on the case, but the superintendent of Ciudad Juárez Alejandro Hernández said that this area of ​​the city is not his area of ​​action.

Although he confirmed that he is the Superintendent of Distribution of the CFE, who subordinates those indicated in this case, he said that he “would not know” what to comment on the subject.

According to data from the Chihuahua Prosecutor’s Office, so far this year there have been 73 intentional murders against women in the state, of which 41 -56%- occurred in the municipality of Juárez.

The Mexican government registered 1,040 victims of femicide in 2021, as murder motivated by gender violence is typified, 2.66% more than in 2020.

Adding the 2,747 female victims of intentional homicide, a total of 3,751 Mexican women were murdered last year, which represents more than 10 a day.
