The Montreal Canadiens announced personnel changes to the team’s video department on Monday.

A page of history turns, when after 25 seasons with the team as a video service instructor, Mario Leblanc announced to the team management that he was retiring from the position and his responsibilities at full-time. He will remain involved in the organization, working in particular within the hockey development department.

Daniel Harvey is promoted to video department coach. Last season, Harvey held the same position with the Laval Rocket on Jean-François Houle’s coaching staff.

“On behalf of the entire organization, I want to thank Mario for all his years of loyal service to the Canadiens,” general manager Kent Hughes said in a statement. Working behind the scenes for over 25 years, Mario held a key role on the coaching staff. At the same time, I want to congratulate Daniel on his arrival in the team. »

Boisvert and Audette contracts renewed

In addition, our colleague Stéphane Leroux confirmed that the contracts of recruiters Serge Boisvert and Donald Audette have been renewed. These would be two-year contracts, with an option year.

Boisvert has been with the Canadiens organization since the 2009-2010 season and has served as a scout since the 2010-2011 season. For her part, Audette has been a recruiter with the CH since 2012-2013.

As a player, Boisvert wore the Canadiens’ uniform for 24 games between 1984 and 1988. Audette also represented the Habs as a player between 2001 and 2004.
