Chadwick Boseman won a posthumous Emmy

The actor Chadwick Boseman, died in 2020 due to cancer, received a posthumous Emmy Awardfor his vocal performance for the Marvel animated series “What If…?”released almost a year following his death.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Boseman played “T’Challa”the king of Wakanda and the man behind “Black Panther” in the movies “Captain America: Civil War,” “Black Panther,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” and “Avengers: End Game.”

One of the last projects of the actor, who was 43 years old when he died, was to give voice to the animated version of “T’Challa”, in the series that “reimagined” the superheroes of the franchise, with Boseman being the voice of the chapter “What If… T’Challa Became a Star-Lord?”.

The main Emmy awards will be delivered on September 12, this weekend being the turn of the so-called Creative Arts Emmy Awards, focused on the artistic and technical categories.
