Chainsaw Man in turn goes through the animation box on Crunchyroll

A real phenomenon of the moment, Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga focuses on a half-man, half-demon being who must hunt down monsters.

Being among the top 10 best-selling manga in Japan last year, Chainsaw Man is one of the phenomena of the moment, just like Demon Slayer or L’Atta des Titans. Published in Japan in Shûeisha’s Weekly Shônen Jump, it is published in France by Kazé. The second part of the manga is expected for this year, but it already totals more than 750,000 volumes sold in France with 11 volumes published to date.

The chainsaw man is ready to draw

L’œuvre de Tatsuki Fujimoto will soon imitate many manga classics and go through the adaptation box. The long-awaited anime will arrive on Crunchyroll, new paradise of Japanese animation. A trailer even dropped to accompany the good news. For those who are not yet familiar with this universe, Chainsaw Man recounts the adventures of Denji, a half-man, half-demon being, who finds himself hunting down monsters to repay his debts and becomes, by force of circumstance, a formidable hunter. Friend of Pochita, a chainsaw-demon dog, he obtains his survival by merging with his sidekick and becomes, in turn, a chainsaw-man.

Recruited by the government, he has one objective: to defeat the terrible Demon-gun. Fujimoto’s manga immerses the reader in a world where demons are born from people’s fear. Their power is proportional to the fear they arouse. If they have learned to live with this permanent threat, humans have managed to establish contact and make a pact. There are contracts allowing individuals to use the powers of demons and these writings led to the creation of specialized hunters: the Devil Hunters.

The MAPPA giant behind this highly anticipated new anime

Expected for this year on the platform, the anime Chainsaw Man is currently in production on the side of the MAPPA studio, which must already deal with many hits like L’Atta des Titans (whose grand finale will wait until 2023), dance dance dancer or ONA Gambling School. A big new project for the studio which also produced JUJUTSU KAISEN 0, which distinguished itself at the global box office by becoming one of the ten highest-grossing animated films in the world and one of the 20 highest-grossing feature films in Japan. On the technical distribution side, the anime Chainsaw Man will be directed by Ryû Nakayama (JUJUTSU KAISEN) and the screenplay will be the work of Hiroshi Seko (Mob Psycho 100, JUJUTSU KAISEN). The character design will be by Kazutaka Sugiyama (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation), and the music will be orchestrated by Kensuke Ushio (A Silent Voice, Japan Sinks 2020).
