Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council arrives in the UAE to strengthen relations

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Al-Alimi and his deputies arrived on Friday in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi on an official visit that will last for several days, according to the Yemeni news agency, “Saba”.

According to the agency, Al-Alimi will hold official talks with the UAE leadership “related to strengthening and developing bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in the political, economic, security, military and reconstruction fields, and mobilizing political and development support for Yemen to face the repercussions of the war ignited by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia on the Yemeni people.”

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council stressed to the Yemeni News Agency, “the depth of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, which are deeply rooted in history, looking forward to their development in various fields.”

He valued the “brotherly stances of the UAE leadership, government and people on the side of Yemen and its people in various stages and circumstances, especially during this current exceptional stage,” praising “the heroic stance of the brothers in the UAE and their response to the brotherly call for Yemen through their active participation in the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” Saudi Arabia to support legitimacy in Yemen.

He referred to the Emirati political, military, humanitarian, relief and development support provided to Yemen during the last stage, stressing that “this support embodies the development and growth of the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.”

The Emirati academic, Abdul Khaliq Abdullah, commented on his Twitter account on the visit, saying: “Welcome to the new President of Yemen, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi in the UAE.”

Al-Alimi left Jeddah on Friday evening.

On Thursday, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz received at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, in the presence of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince, the head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council.

During the meeting, the Saudi monarch affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness and support for the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, wishing them success in achieving security and stability for Yemen and the brotherly Yemeni people, according to the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”.
