A computer program that has the gift of irritating its users. All the communes of Franches-Montagnes use the same Lausanne software dedicated to municipal administrations. Some have been using it for a few months while others have been using it for several years. The contracts are individual but the problems are similar. The union of communes of Franches-Montagnes (SCFM) had a glimpse of it Thursday evening at Noirmont during its general assembly.
“We’re wasting time”
The association of municipal employees of Franches-Montagnes presented the Taignon mayors with the results of a satisfaction survey carried out in October. The municipalities describe the software as good but could be improved and they regret that it is complicated to use despite having followed theoretical training. “With this program, we are wasting time,” sighed the president of the association Claire Donzé. Other negative points raised are that the customer service of the Vaud company leaves something to be desired and invoices for maintenance services are piling up, without any real supporting documents. “We don’t necessarily know what services we pay,” said the mayor of Geneva, Anael Lovis. For her part, the elected representative of Muriaux Nathalie Donzé pointed to a lack of collaborators to explain the failing support of the Vaud firm towards its clients.
The service provider, contacted by RFJ, rejected this last remark claiming the presence of 11 employees to support customers. He adds that getting used to the software takes time. Even more so in the Franches-Montagnes which has small-scale municipal administrations with low work rates.
A solution considered
To improve things, the union of the communes of Franches-Montagnes decided to intervene. He opted for the creation of a contract model common to all users in the district. This model should make it possible to improve the situation with the service provider and avoid unpleasant surprises for municipalities thanks in particular to a better definition of maintenance services and intervention prices.
