Iowa City,Iowa – Chalmer E. Good,aged 86,of Carman,Illinois,passed away on Sunday,June 22,2025,at the University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Born on September 1, 1938, in Carman, To Cecil And Velma Pindell Good, he lived a life deeply connected to his community and the Mississippi River. He wed Sandra Limback in Burlington, iowa, on April 17, 1960.
A Life Lived By The River
Born and raised near the Mississippi River, Chalmer’s passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for fishing and hunting. He dedicated 16 years to medical laboratory technology before transitioning to the insurance industry.He first worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and than owned his own agency in Roseville,Illinois,for many years. He retired in 2008.

Furthermore, He leaves behind seven grandchildren, Dr. Aaron Henry (Brianne), Dr. Collin Henry (dr. Nicole Williams), Brendon Good (Elizabeth), Chrystina Good-Lorentzen (Brandon), Sydney Good, Mikela seroka, Bobbie Johnson, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Chalmer was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Caleb Good, and one brother, Donald Good.
Funeral Arrangements
The visitation will be held at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst on Thursday, June 26th, from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church in Burlington, officiated by Rev. Da’Misha McFarland-pollock. Burial will follow at Carman cemetery.
